Church Council

President: Kay Winnett (Parish Life)

As a past church council president, Kay offers church council a plethora of knowledge, experience, and energy. She helps keep the money matters of the church well-grounded and on track. She is also more times than not heading up the organization, setting up, and smooth operation for our Dessert Tea Rooms and other special occasions.

Secretary: Robbin Mosier (Ad Hoc and Christian Education)

Robbin does so much for our church. A teacher by trade, she is one of the teachers for our new children's Sunday School class! Robbin also coordinates the decorating of the church sanctuary for the different seasons. But, probably her most miraculous feat is somehow transcribing our monthly, digitally-recorded council meetings into accurate and understandable minutes, which she then saves as a document and emails to every council member in a very timely manner!

Treasurer: Tom Pinckney (Finance & Stewardship, Constitution and By-Laws)

Tom's many years of experience as an attorney at law, and his cornucopia of knowledge of the law, has been an invaluable asset in helping guide council to rational, well-thought-out decisions! His heritage dates back to the colonial era; he is a direct descendant of Thomas Pinckney, an ardent patriot in the American Revolution. Pinckney was South Carolina's 36th governor, and, among a host of other high posts and accomplishments, was notable for presiding over the state convention that ratified that new U.S. Constitution. We love having Tom - and his tremendous sense of humor - on council!

Barbara was the editor of the Post and Courier for several decades, and now holds the position of Editor Emeritus. She heads up the Parsonage committee with genuine warmth, caring, and humility which has endeared her to council. Barbara has taken it upon herself to set up the coffee and snacks for the social hour which preceeds Sunday School and the worship service!

Chuck Long (Property, Worship and Music)

Chuck is extremely energetic and organized. And, that's very important as he tries to wrap his arms around all of our historic church property needs. As if that is not enough responsibility, Chuck also chairs the Worship and Music committee AND leads the St. Johannes Taizé worship music as well as our new children's Sunday School class!

Albie Duc (Stewardship and Finance)

Albie is one of the longest-serving members of our congregation, a true church "pillar". Consequently, he has probably served in just about every capacity at one time or another. Albie has done an outstanding job with the annual church stewardship campaigns. He also has a real love for our Taize Worship Service, where he serves as our lay leader. In the past, Albie has also even filled in as "substitute pastor"!
