How many people will the church sanctuary seat?
Approximately 192, with 132 seats downstairs and 60 in the balcony.

Do I have to be a Lutheran to be married in the church?

Do I have to have counseling?
Counseling is required for all couples who are to be married in the St. Johannes sanctuary.
Please see the Wedding Policy for more details.

Can I have my reception at the church?
Yes. Gatch Fellowship Hall will seat 80-100. The church has a large catering kitchen.

Where can the wedding party get dressed?
The church has new, large bathroom facilities. There is also a lounge area for the bride and bridesmaids. An adjacent room is frequently used by the bride’s party. The groom and his party often gather in the church library.

Are there other locations on the church property for weddings?
Yes, the small Taize Chapel and The Parsonage.

What about flowers?
Flowers provided for the Sunday church service are available for Saturday weddings. The church Altar Guild can also make recommendations for florists who can design arrangements to fit church specifications.

What about parking?
The church has an adjoining parking lot that will accommodate eight vehicles and can make arrangements for some additional parking. Larger weddings should consider arranging small bus service.

Are there times when the church isn’t available for weddings?
The sanctuary is not available during Holy Week (the week of Easter), the week of Christmas,
and the week of New Year’s.
