The Parsonage in Charleston
You can start your wedding week in the heart of historic Charleston by unpacking your bags in the grand 1846 residence at 50 Hasell Street. This unique venue, which allows weekly rentals in a beautiful residential neighborhood, is now better known as: The Parsonage in Charleston.
No reason to leave family, best friends or bridesmaids behind. For your stay there are three, elegantly furnished bedrooms for members of the wedding party who want to help with and enjoy the last-minute preparations.
When the bags are unpacked, there’s no better place to relax than on one of the double piazzas or in the breath-taking English-style garden. When you are ready to stretch your legs you will find you are only a block from the city’s popular Market, which is home to numerous carriage companies.

There are also many historic sites open to the public, including the historic Dock Street Theatre, which is only a short walk from the Parsonage. Also, you are virtually surrounded by some of the city’s best restaurants!
Or pick up your cell phone and invite friends who are arriving for the wedding for cocktails in the parlor and drawing room.
If you are in the mood for a snack, or something more filling, the kitchen is fully equipped.
There’s nothing more relaxing than breakfast on the flower-filled piazza.
Your next-door neighbor is St. Johannes Lutheran Church, which owns 50 Hasell Street and which has a 100-year history as a parsonage. The church has a large kitchen, which can be used for catering a bridesmaids’ luncheon in The Parsonage in Charleston.
The church kitchen may also be used by caterers for larger receptions in the church’s Gatch Fellowship Hall. You can be married in one of several locations on the property: inside the Parsonage, in the Parsonage Garden, in our smaller and more intimate Taize Chapel, or in the church sanctuary itself, which dates to 1842 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
You also have the option of being married in another church of your choice.
But be assured there will be no better choice for your wedding week than…
